Oh, lovely! What's the yarn? And what's it to become?
I'm very impressed with your use of html. I managed to change the colour of my post headings by much trial and error. They are the first green I hit on and they have stayed that way. But you manage coloured text in your posts and a variety of beautiful greens!
No, I think the Academy of Science is on the other side of the lot the de Young is built on. Granted, all of the lovely old buildings in this area (Academy of Science, Asian Art Museum, the old de Young) were demolished because they were very seismically unsafe. Sigh... What is the bandshell?
The bandshell is the area between the acadamey of science and the de young. There were these wonderfully gnarled trees with pathways between them, a water fountain with tiger sculptures I believe and at the end which is closest to 12th (?) avenue was an open ampitheater or bandshell where musicians would gather and perform on sunny sundays.

Ah! The bandshell is still safely there along with the gnarled trees and paths. The fountain I don't think I have seen though.
